Welcome to our family blog....

Here's all the news on what's going on in the Ramsey home. I've created our family page to keep up with everything that is happening with us, Vann, Julie, Jonathan and Savannah...and what we are up to, along with the rest of our family and friends. I especially wanted to make this for Jonathan and Savannah...as they are growing up more and changing everyday! Enjoy!

My lil Ladybug and Knight

Here's Savannah in her Halloween costume this year, loved this ladybug costume so much I had to borrow it...thanks Kristin!
Isn't she SO cute?!

And here's Sir Peter! Jonathan absolutely loved Narnia and had to have this costume! He's already worn it so many times, can't wait to wear it on Halloween.

Trip to the Horse Farm

We decided to make a field trip to the Millcreek Horse farm. It was a nice day and we had lots of carrots to get rid of! Jonathan and Savannah loved it...mommy too! We met up with Michelle and her girls, Jaimi and her family and it was alot of fun. This was our second trip to the farm and we plan to go back again soon.

Books Books Books!

We have always had lots of books around the house to read..so many that we're having trouble finding shelves and baskets for them all. Now with Jonathan in school, we are reading more books all the time. We're keeping a monthly log of what books we read and then he turns it in for a pizza hut coupon, yay! Savannah can't seem to get enough of books these days, she keeps bringing them to us, saying "read book". She likes the animal ones the best, Jonathan has always favored those as well. I guess we'll be finding another bookshelf soon since we've been ordering more through Jonathan's school to help his class.

...and she said "I Love You!"

Savannah finally said for the first time all together at once and willfully..."I LOVE YOU MOMMY"...and of course I just melted..I would tell her all the time and she would never say it back or say "OK"...I was so excited, she probably didn't know what to think, or if she should say it again..anyhow, I wanted to post it so I could look back and remember when it was..and remind her as well!

Our beach vacation September 2008

We went back to St. Augustine Beach for a long family weekend/anniversary trip again this September. Everyone had a great time, especially Jonathan and Savannah. They couldn't get enough of the beach this year, which was alot different from last year. Jonathan got a new body board and was really enjoying riding the waves in. Savannah loved to play in the sand the most but did really enjoy the water as well. Of course we had plenty of pool time also, which they always love. It was a perfect way to end the summer.

Fay!

Well our first week of school was made shorter due to Tropical Storm Fay. We've had alot of rain and some wind but nothing too bad so far. Mom got a day off work today to stay home, we decided to venture out to the mall's play area..to release some built up energy from being kept inside.
Schools were closed Thursday and Friday this week so Jonathan only had 3 days of Kindergarten. He keeps asking when he gets to go back to school again. I think he really enjoys it so far. It has been an adjustment for everyone, going to bed earlier, getting up earlier and longer days..Jonathan and Savannah are exhausted by the time they get home now.
Here are a few pics from our vacation day with Fay...

It's Time for Kindergarten!

All ready for the first day of Kindergarten

Mom and Jonathan on his first day of school

I can't believe the time has come..but Jonathan started Kindergarten today! He's now a Norton Knight! We've been talking about starting school for a while and driven by many times but wasn't quite the same as the first day. Jonathan and Mom were both nervous and not quite sure about it all.. Once we got there and he saw he had friends, he was fine and ready to go, didn't look back. Mom, on the other hand...had to fight back tears. Went to pick him up and he wasn't where he should have been, that was a scary time indeed. Turns out he was in the line to go to afterschool at O2b instead of the parent pick-up line..he was ok though.. I think he enjoyed day one although he didn't say too much about it really. we'll see...

Growing Up....

Wow...it's just amazing how things seem to change so quickly...
Savannah has been doing so well with potty training..some days are better than others, but overall she's been doing great! When we go away for longer periods of time it doesn't seem to be working so well but that's ok. She sometimes goes on her own and sometimes not..it seems to be much easier with her than it was with Jonathan when he was potty training. She likes to go on the BIG potty and gets her stool out.
There are lots of new words everytime I turn around. She likes to repeat things that I say now and is singing words to songs playing on the radio....it is so funny to hear her singing and watch her dancing in the car while the music is on.
As for Jonathan, well he is starting Kindergarten on Monday..wow! I can't believe it...I know I'll be in tears..I am now, just thinking about it. Where has the time gone?! He is really excited about a new school, although I'm not sure how happy he will be with school starting at 7:45am! We've been getting everything together for his new adventure, new lunch bag..which by the way HAD to be Transformers...all the school supplies and he has informed me he wanted new SKETCHERS tennis shoes...not sure where he got that from..it is the first time he's requested a particular kind, uh oh!
He has discovered an MP3 player that I had as well, loves listening to the Jonas Brothers and David Cook from American Idol. He walks around singing outloud..it is so cute! More to come...

Summer Fun

This summer is keeping us very busy with Jonathan's first T Ball season..which we are all really enjoying. He has practice and games every week and has had alot of fans come out to see him play...thanks everyone!
Also, we are spending alot of time in the pool..trying to keep cool! Jonathan is finally really learning to swim with no swim aids..which is great, considering he's never had lessons. He's doing very well and loves the pool! Savannah needs more practice pool time but loves to play in the water and tries to keep up with big brother. Here are some recent T ball and pool pics...

Our Wisconsin Vacation

Well, we all flew to Wisconsin for our first family trip to visit Vann's family at the end of July and stayed for almost a week. It was alot of fun..although very tiring for the little ones, they kept going until they couldn't! We saw the elk, went to Nelson Cheese factory..twice for cheese and ice cream...county fair, Mall of America..and spent lots of time with the family. We had a great time and really enjoyed seeing everyone! Here are some of the pictures..

Happy July 4th!

In their new red, white and blue...

We had our usual fireworks show at the house, with a crowd of people to watch them. It was alot of fun, Jonathan was really into them this year, compared to the previous years. Savannah on the other hand, wasn't too sure about them. We were inside then out again and again..
Luckily no one was hurt and the show was fabulous! Here are a few pictures from our July 4th at home.

Morningside Nature Park

I thought it would be fun to take Jonathan and Savannah to Morningside Nature Park today for the first time...but it was a pretty quiet day at the farm. We did see a cow and some chickens..not much else going on. We walked around the farm and the park a little, although it was pretty hot and the mosquitos were bad. We'll be waiting until the fall to go again, when it is cooler and there is more to see I guess. Oh well, I tried right? Here are a few pictures from our outing...

Savannah's First Night in her new BIG bed!

Savannah slept for the first night in her big girl toddler bed last night. She slept ALL night long, never got up and actually called "mama" this morning for me to come and get her..instead of getting up and out of the bed, which is what I expected.
We had a little battle today at naptime and she said she wanted to sleep in her crib again...but quickly went to sleep in her bed anyhow. yay! She's becoming such a big girl!!

she didn't want me to take her picture at first..

she was having fun jumping on her new big girl bed

We're going to work on making her room into a big girl room instead of a nursery now, but the biggest transition was the bed..we wanted to have that complete first!

Father's Day 2008

Daddy wanted to take a trip to the St. John's River in our boat..so off we went! We had fun riding, tubing (mommy did that) and stopped for lunch at Three Bananas..it was yummy. Here are some pictures...

Daddy had to make Jonathan get his picture taken and he was NOT happy!
